Nautical

Hello, today I have a card I made using X-cuts Build-a-Scene dies called Nautical.  It has 16 dies which can be used in several ways to build nautical scenes and this is the first one I made using the sailing ship and sea dies.

They are a bit fiddly but produce a lovely card for a boy.  The clouds are a DieNamics die.

National Puzzle Day

Hello, today J&C Creations are showcasing National Puzzle Day which is mostly celebrated in the USA but seems to be catching on here, especially amongst children.

If you pop over to J&C Creations website you will see how to make them and the items you will need.

This card uses Penny Black's Hedge-word stamp.

My second card uses Spellbinders Shapeabilities Puzzle Effect (S5-139).  I hope you like them.

Delicate Spring Asters

Hello, today I have another card I designed for J&C Creations using Heartfelt Creations Bold Delicate Asters (HCPC3495), Delicate Asters (HCPC3494) and Delicate Asters die (HCD726).
You will also need:

Memento Dye Ink - Dandelion, Bamboo, Desert Sand, Rich Cocoa & Pear Tart
Coconut card & paper
Green ribbon
Green card
Gems for flower centres

Method:

Stamp various sized flowers in Desert Sand, Rich Cocoa and Pear Tart over a piece of coconut card cut to fit a 6x6 base card.  When dry add a piece of ribbon diagonally and make a flat bow.

Stamp two of each flower stamp from the Bold Delicate Asters using Dandelion ink and two leaves using Bamboo ink onto coconut paper and cut out.

Stamp the largest flower stamp from the Delicate Asters set onto coconut paper using Rich Cocoa and cut out.

Die cut eight of the smallest flowers in the Delicate Asters die set out of paper pre-coloured with Dandelion ink.

Assemble the main Aster flower and curl the petals and attach to the base card.  Assemble the four small flowers using two die cuts for each and attach to the ribbon.  Attach the single flower to the bottom corner as in the photo.

Die cut the letters S P R I N G from green card and add to the base card.  Add gems to the flower centres.

Hello!

Hello, today I have one of my more usual type of card.  The image is Hello! which is a fairly old stamp from the Stampavie Laurence Collection but I believe you can still get hold of it.  The kitty has been coloured with Flexis.

The image and mat have been die cut using Spellbinders Marvellous Squares and the backing paper with Grand Labels One.

The branch is one of the new Memory Box dies called Lavish Branch and the flowers are WOC and berries from Magnolia.

Embrace

Hello, today I have a card I made using the second sized die from Spellbinders  Round About (sorry Jules!).

It was cut using the same paper as yesterday's but I used First Edition's Hideaway backing paper.  The PB wooden stamp is called Embrace which is not particularly apt, the image was coloured with Flexis - have you seen all the lovely new colours?

Round About

Hello, today I have a card made with the largest size in the Spellbinders Cut, Fold and Tuck dies Round About and I like playing with them.

I've used First Edition Up Up and Away for both the die cut and corners which are from a die by Whimsy Stamps.  The background paper is from an Authentique Blissful pad.

The snow is beginning to melt here so the roads are clearing thank goodness.

Angle Approach

Hello, today I have a card made using one of Spellbinders Cut, Fold and Tuck dies called Angle Approach.

I've used First Edition Noir et Chic paper and mounted it onto black card.  The backing paper is another one from the same pad which has a shimmer to it but doesn't show up very well here.

Pagoda

Hello, today I am showing a card I made using Chocolate Baroque's Eastern Landscapes clear stamps.  I was very pleased with the way it turned out but looking at it again, there are things I would do differently next time but isn't that always the case!

The paper is from Prima's Botanical 6x6 pad and I love the way it makes a frame for the image.  I have used watercolour paper with TH's Distress Markers to colour the images and actual watercolour paint for the sky.

Wings of Hope

Hello, today I have another card I made for J&C Creations using Heartfelt Creations Wings of Hope stamps.  You will need to contact J&C on 01622 729 154 for product availability as the warehouse is currently closed for the mega sale and building work.

Items used:

Heartfelt Creations Wings of Hope stamps (HCPC 3479)
Black stamping card
Versamark
WOW Gold Sparkle Regular embossing powder (WS07R-S)
Ranger Embossing Powder Sticky
Gilding Flakes
Gold paper
Archival Brilliance – Galaxy Gold
Gold paper
Assortment of small flowers and berries

Method:

Stamp the “sitting” Dove from the stamp set randomly over the black card using Versamark and then emboss with the Gold Sparkle powder.

In the spaces, stamp the same Dove randomly using the Galaxy Gold.

Using the Butterfly from the stamp set, stamp onto another piece of black card using Versamark and the Sticky embossing powder.  Heat until sticky and then cover the image with gilding flakes and brush off the excess.

Mount this image onto gold paper and then onto the black stamped card.

Arrange the flowers and berries as in the photo.

J&C Creations January 2013 Challenge

Hello, today there is a new challenge over on J&C Creations Challenge website  for Something Old and Something New.

My card uses one of the NEW Spellbinders D-lites - Fantastic Flourish Two which is the one in the top left corner.

To make this card you will need:

Memento Bamboo Leaves inkpad
Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters die (HCD 726)
Spellbinders D-Lites Fantastic Flourish Two (S2-009)
FabScraps 12x12 paper Heritage Pink Floral (C38 007A)
6x6 blank white card
Grey, pink and green card
Light blue paper (I use cryogen paper)
Red mixed glitter
Tiny pink beads
Ribbon, small flower and green gems
Edge punch of choice (I used an EK Success Arch Scallop Edge punch)
Double-sided tape

J&C Creations website is showing their sale items at the moment but I think  you should be able to get most, if not all of the above from them.

Method:

Die cut 6 flowers from paper with each of the 4 flower dies.  Die cut 2 leaves.
Curl all the petals of the flowers inwards and then assemble inside each other starting with the largest and ending with the smallest.
Colour the leaves using the Bamboo Leaves dye ink.
Die cut 3 pink flowers using the smallest die and assemble together, glue inside the flower and add some of the pink sprig embellishment to the middle.
Using green card, die cut a flourish using the D-Lites die.
I have used a strip of double-sided tape to adhere the glitter.
Assemble the card as in the photo.

Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters die (HCD 726)

Green mirror card
Pink dye ink
Pink ribbon
Pink pearl brads
6 x 6 white base card and a slightly smaller piece of white card for stamping with ink

Using London Fog, stamp 3 each of all the Asters onto paper (I use Cryogen paper because it curls nicely) for the large flower and 3 each of the smallest and next size up for the small flower, then cut them out.

Spray all the flowers with pink and when dry, curl each petal outwards.
Assemble the flowers together as in the photo.
Die cut 4 leaves using the mirror card.

Using the stamping card for dye ink, stamp rye grasses randomly using first Summer Sky and then Danube Blue
Add the ribbon and make a bow.
Assemble the flowers using the pearl brads for centres and the leaves.

Lilac Doves

Hello, today I have a card I made for the current LIM challenge but it seems unfinished.

I used the doves from Heartfelt Creations Wings of Hope stamp set and embossed them with WOW! Opaque Pastel Purple.  The sentiment is by Pink Petticoat and I used a Crealies Text Tag to cut it out.

Floral Vine

Hello, today I have a card I made for the CLP Sketch Challenge #54 which is running until 31st January.  It is only the second challenge I have entered.

I have used Floral Vine by The Stamp Barn which is an old stamp and sadly no longer available but I love it's simplicity.

I prefer making 6x6 cards but this image is so big it looked silly.  I also love the Spellbinders they bring out to match the plain label dies I have because they frame the images so nicely.

By the River

Hello, today I have a quick card which I made for my Great Nephew.  I have used another die cut from the LOTV sheet 'Take it Easy' which unfortunately has now been discontinued but the rubber stamp "By the River" can still be bought.

I have used 3 dies, Die-namics cloud and Marianne Creatables Tree and Fence.

I die cut green and brown trees to get green leaves and painted the craftcard fence with Picket Fence crackle paint.

I still don't find boys cards easy but this one was more difficult because I have no idea what his interests are, this image seemed fairly universal though.

Flowers in a Park

Hello, today I have a card which uses five different dies - Doohickey - lamp, Die-Namics - clouds, Memory Box - flowers and stems and lastly, Spellbinders D-Lites - railings.

The flowers are from a pack of Japanese paper sold for origami and the backing paper is Papermania's Beautiful pad.

The sentiment is from LOTV and stamped in Lady Bug from Memento.

Yellow Butterfly

Hello, I wish you a Happy New Year and I hope it will be good one for you all.

Today I have a very sunny card made with Spellbinders D-lites - Medallion Six and a Memory Box butterfly.  I was so fed up with the rain when I made this.

The backing paper is from Prima's Zephyr pad again.
